I was listening to early zeplin and came accross in interesting song. It has a nomadic structure allmost akin to Stabbing Westward in chorus change ups, and drops in and out of some very heavily delivered chords.
Do you think this a precursor at all to industrial?

Re: Early hints of industrial? Lead Zeplin 1973 - No Quarter
Sat, March 28, 2009 - 1:04 PMI always liked Zepplin. They were never afraid to try out new sounds. Sabbath was another band that really broke some early ground with sounds that were major influences on early Industrial. Listen to Electric Funeral. Right out of a haunted house.
Then again there's always the Theremin, the most industrial instrument ever created.

Sun, March 29, 2009 - 11:06 PMI thought the most industrial instrument ever was the pneumatic drill. -

Re: Early hints of industrial? Lead Zeplin 1973 - No Quarter
Mon, March 30, 2009 - 9:51 PMYou say pneumatic drill and I think of something similar to an air impact wrench with a drill bit on it.
Bench grinders are also up there in the same ranking.

Mon, March 30, 2009 - 10:20 PMYeah. I don't think anyone ever said, "And then I started pneumatic drilling her." In a porno.

Re: Early hints of industrial? Lead Zeplin 1973 - No Quarter
Tue, March 31, 2009 - 7:55 AMAlways makes me think of Fred Schneider:
"Gyrate it till you had your fill
Just like a pneumatic drill
Don`t let it go down the drain
Ya better hop on the cosmic wagontrain! Woooooo!"
- B-52s, "Cosmic Thing"
...clearly, I must turn in my industrial membership card now.
